Deepika and Brandon went to high school together but never really talked to one another back then. However, they remained friends on Instagram. Fast forward 16 years, they began commenting on each other’s travel posts. “That looks amazing!” “I would love to go there!”… Soon the conversations became more frequent and went from being superficial to more in depth: discussing life goals and career paths. They realized they had a lot in common! Deepika suggested to Brandon one time while he was in New York that they should connect when he returned. They did just that and things took off! They are now planning to see the world together!

US citizens need a valid passport and an Indian visa or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card to enter and exit India. The type of visa required depends on the purpose of the visit and the length of the stay: eVisa US citizens can apply for an eVisa to visit India for tourism for up to 180 days in a calendar year if their stay is less than 60 days and they apply at least four days before arrival. eVisas are available for 30 days, one year, and five years, with prices ranging from $10–$80. The application requires a recent passport photo with a white background, a passport page with personal details, and possibly another document depending on the type of eVisa. The application fee is non-refundable, even if the application is rejected. The government typically processes applications within 2–3 days, but the review time can vary. Applicants should confirm that their eVisa status is granted before traveling and bring a copy of their eVisa with them.
